...catherine

.. yet another game I have wanted to play forever: catherine! probably cuz the name alone does make me curious (it's probably no coincidence that i like playing katarina at league of legends so much). but the more plausible reason is is from the developers of persona. and so it became a welcome break filler during my intense working phase lately.
what i didn't like that much was, that I had the feeling, that i cannot affect the stroryline that much. one did have this timed day-plan in persona as well, but it felt as if i had more freedoms there, especially in talks and there were more places to go to.back to catherine, there are two places where you can be proactive: the bar and the world of nightmare. although the main character vincent also goes to other locations with friends, as a player you cannot do more than follow the story. in the bar, you can actively talk with other characters. but still i miss some more choices in the replies. you got some choices when answering the girls over phone. oh and there is a jukebox at the bar where you can later select music from persona. yay! it is very important to talk to as many people as possible at the bar, otherwise it has consequences - lethal consequences. cuz most of these characters you'll meet again in the nightmare-world. and they count on you.so what is the world of nightmare? you do not really know at first. apparently this sinners are having these bad dreams.. cheaters.. two-timers.. and unfortunately there was this blonde girl that vincent met at bar and somehow woke up next to the next morning. and now he has this nightmare every night. in which he must climb. pull blocks from walls to build stairs to get to the top without falling down. cuz who falls and dies in a dream will die in real life too. of course the climbing, pulling and pushing of blocks is in the players hand. against time. cuz the wall crumbles from below.so all in all i had lots of fun. the ambition gets to you anyway ;) the ending did not entirely satisfy me, but I have to research again - there's this good-evil-meter - and that could affect the outcome. that would mean i will start over again soon.. back to the climbing wall!
